After months of anticipation, Southside’s newest locally owned restaurant, Sugo Rossa, has opened it’s doors for lunch and dinner service, offering authentic classic Italian dishes and wood fired pizzas. Southside residents who have craved the local flavor of downtown, but didn’t want to make the trip, have been flocking to Sugo Rossa since it’s opening.
Although the restaurant is fairly new, the impeccable service and quality of food are that of long running neighborhood joint. The attention to detail of the food at Sugo Rossa is reflective of their Victorian District sister restaurant, Cotton & Rye. Like Cotton & Rye, Sugo Rossa puts a large emphasis on their ingredients, from the specialty cocktails to their incredible tomato sauce, or “sugo rossa” in Italian, the care for each dish is incredibly apparent. (We highly suggest asking for a side of “sugo rossa” to dip your pizza crust into!)
Seaport Real Estate agents Ben and Megan enjoyed a night out with friends at Sugo Rossa this week, and both raved about the wood fired pizzas! Split a bottle of wine, the best Caesar salad you’ve ever had, and one of their specialty pizza’s with a friend (and maybe a side of Chicken Parmesan too) for a perfect night out. Make sure to save room for the homemade tiramisu – not too sweet and incredibly light but decadent at the same time!
