When word got out that a new taco join was opening up in Savannah’s Starland District, we couldn’t have been more excited. It is no secret that the Bull Street Corridor of the Starland District is booming with development and turning in to a foodie haven. Just off the corner of Bull Street and 33rd Street, Bull Street Taco is preparing to open it’s doors this September.
The creators of Bull Street Taco gave the early 20th century brick warehouse it will now call home a major facelift, with an outdoor patio, stand up taco bar, and eclectic decorations that give off a warm and inviting vibe that fits in with the Starland District perfectly.
According to their website, the inspiration for Bull Street Taco came from “the simple joy of a great taco…so we make our masa tortillas by hand every day.” The taqueria will focus on fresh, local ingredients and time honored traditions with a funky style. Did we mention they will also have a full liquor bar?
Bull Street Taco will hand-make their masa tortillas every day, to serve with exciting hand crafted tacos like the Braised Short Rib Taco, or the Roasted Cauliflower Taco! Choose three tacos and a side for only $15, or you can order your tacos individually. Needless to say, we can’t wait to try the whole menu. Bull Street Taco will also offer a happy hour menu, with $2 tacos, $5 guacamole, and more from 3-5pm Mon-Fri.
Bull Street Taco is a welcome addition to the Starland District’s growing food scene. The quickly evolving neighborhood also includes the new Woofgang Bakery location, and Henny Penny Bakery and Coffee (from the Foxy Loxy Group). If you haven’t explored the Starland District lately, you are missing out on the hottest areas of Savannah right now. We can’t wait for Bull Street Taco to open their doors in September – we will see you there!
