Savannah’s newest bakery, Auspicious Baking Company, recently opened their doors in June, and has experienced a line out the door ever since! This tiny bakery is located on Skidaway Road near Derenne, and is only open on Sundays, and pumps out fresh baked breads, croissants, and more to their loyal customers. We highly recommend the goat cheese brownies, cinnamon raisin bread, and a croissant if you get there before they are gone! If the lines out the door and daily sell-outs are any indicator, then The Auspicious Baking Company is headed for great success.
Kaytlin Bryant and Mark Ekstron opened Auspicious Baking Company after their homemade breads became so popular among their friends and co-workers. Bryant is a self tuaght baker, who got her start at Rum Runners Bakery and Cafe, and is inspired by her grandmother who was also a baker. Determined to make everything by hand themselves, Auspicious Baking Company is only opened one day a week right now, but you can also find them at the Richmond Hill Farmers Market on Tuesdays.
To help with the growing success, Auspicious Baking Company has recruited Kstrom’s grandmother and Bryant’s mother. They will be closed this Sunday to help with the move, and will re-open on September 3rd.
